Small Groups

Faith is formed not only in worship, but in shared conversation, study, service, and reflection. Throughout the year, small groups led by church members and staff gather in living rooms, classrooms, fellowship halls, and around tables—creating spaces where relationships deepen and questions are welcomed.

These gatherings shape the everyday life of the church. Through Scripture study, prayer, service projects, meals, and mutual support, participants discover how faith takes root in ordinary moments. What follows is a glimpse into these recent expressions of community, learning, and care—small groups living out the larger story of the church, one gathering at a time.

Friendly Visitors

Some of the church’s quiet work happens through simple presence. Friendly Visitors walk alongside those who are homebound or living in nursing care, bringing conversation, attention, and care into daily life. Through listening, sharing Scripture, and sitting together, they create moments of connection that remind people they are remembered and valued.

Volunteers may also assist with serving Holy Communion, but the heart of this ministry is presence. These visits transform ordinary hours into opportunities for companionship, prayer, and affirmation of faith.

Amherst Meadows
Skilled Nursing and rehab Worship

Twice a month, the congregation steps beyond the church walls to lead worship at Amherst Meadows, offering a full service of hymns, Scripture, message, and prayer. Holy Communion and anointing with oil extend familiar practices into a new setting, bringing the rhythms of faith to residents in a personal and tangible way.

In these gatherings, volunteers witness how worship can be shared, adapted, and received with gratitude, creating bonds between the church and those who might otherwise be on the margins of its life.

First Men's Breakfast

Once a month, the First Men’s Breakfast gathers men of the congregation to explore Scripture, reflect on faith, and share conversation over a morning meal. Beyond study, these gatherings build relationships across generations, creating a space where questions, insights, and encouragement move freely.

Through these monthly meetings, faith becomes a lived experience—nourished by both words and the quiet bonds formed around the table.

Brighten the Corner

Care for the surrounding space becomes a form of ministry in itself. Brighten the Corner tends the flora around the church, cultivating a welcoming and vibrant presence for anyone passing by.

For those who find joy in planting, pruning, and watching growth unfold, this group offers a way to participate in creation and community at the same time. Each season brings new life, visible evidence of attention, patience, and care.
